1. Don’t Panic

Don’t freeze, don’t run. Take a deep breath. Keep moving forward. You are not alone and you will be okay.

2. Recognize

The modern internet wants you scrolling—forever. This feeds something inside you that IS NOT YOU. Just recognize this.

  • How many bites of “content” did you consume yesterday?

  • Did you ever feel “full?”

You are not the one who is consuming.

TAKE.

A DEEP.

BREATH.

3. Feel

The parasite feeds and grows when you attend to digital stimuli, the parasite is starved and shrinks when you attend to internal stimuli.

  • Push your feet into the ground.

  • Hold your phone in one hand, drop your other hand. Feel your phone’s shape, edges, temperature, weight.

  • Ball up your other fist tightly.

  • When you’re ready, release everything and FEEL. Clench, and release. Clench. Release. Remember your body.

That can be enough.

The next time you feel yourself opening the app most-connected to the parasite, a subconscious part of you will remember the shape of that pulsing, twitching creature that is feeding from inside you—making a puppet out of you.

To heal further, here are six treatments that you already know will work. You just have to remember why to do them.

(the reason is pulsing, twitching, and laying eggs within you)

Put down the screen,
pick up your life.
